Occasionally, God gives me a word or phrase during time with Him that is so appropriate and necessary in my life, that I feel the need to right it on my skin as a reminder. And this particular phrase came to me this morning during a Bible based guided meditation I have taken to doing in the mornings to get my mind right. This morning's was on Philippians 2:5 talking about having the mind of Christ, which was always at peace with whatever the Father had for him, in whatever season of life he was in. That's a high calling, since the majority of Jesus's life on earth was full of persecution and suffering and betrayal by his closest friends. It was so good to be reminded, that in my current season-- much easier to bear than anything Christ bore-- I am, first of all, cared for enough by my Father for Him to reach down into my morning and give me exactly what I needed to hear, and, second of all, FULLY EQUIPPED to just what that verse in Philippians says, "adopt the attitude that was in Christ Jesus". This is no easy feat by any means, BUT I have the very Spirit of God which made Christ, who was fully dead, alive again, living inside of me every moment of every day! Now try to tell me that I can't adopt the attitude of Christ as my own?! Self, please do not believe that lie. Brother or Sister, please do not believe that lie. Surrender to the Joy that lives in you. Joy and Peace that surpasses all human understanding. Hey there! It's been a while, hasn't it? ○ Hope you all had a fantabulous #LDW2019! Mine was pretty schnazzy, as time off work usually is! Let's see, went to a Jonas Bros concert, felt old and may have burst an ear drum from all the screaming. Check! Don't feel the need to do that again. In general, just spent a lot of time with some great peeps! BUT what I'm really STOKED to share about is the culminating of a lot of learning I have been doing about myself, how God made me. As a 9 on the Enneagram, I have tended, in many seasons of life on many different projects, to just give up when things have gotten difficult or uncomfortable. I am very much so committed to a sense of inner peace and harmony and comfort, so when anything disrupts that inner peace I'm like, "Bah Felicia!" {{Well yesterday was different.}} I had all the opportunity in the world to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, to numb out all day in front of the endless distraction pit of Netflix. That's what I've been doing a lot of lately because as soon as this book I'm writing got uncomfortable, and I didn't know where to go with it, on the shelf it went and numb I became. Yesterday, 🎶for the first time in FOREVER🎶, I was COURAGEOUS and allowed myself to believe that what I have to say through this project MATTERS. God has placed a story in my heart, and I have to write it! No matter how hard or uncomfortable it gets. ○ So Friends, all that to say, Hello again! Birthday weekend shenanigans complete! Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes, everyone. And a special shout out to those who helped me celebrate this weekend!
